As I stated during Spring Break Matt took Kade and crew to Robbers Roost out past Hanksville, UT. I only have a second to post a few pictures of Kade repelling. I PROMISE to get the rest downloaded and their stories on the blog.

Marc

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARC!
Matt's brother Marc just turned the BIG 40!
We love him dearly. He is a wonderful; man, brother, uncle, and son. He took on the world in December by seeing to his fathers needs and dieing wishes. We are humbled to know him. He is not only Matt's brother but his best friend. We love having him over for dinner, he makes us laugh so hard I end up crying.
When we think of Marc we think: selfless, motorist, 3 wheelers, camping, hunting, gentle, joker (SNOW TIME), brother, compassionate, loving, strong.

Earth Day

Today is Earth Day and my mind keeps wandering back to Matt's dad. He was an amazing gardener and it was always so important to him that we plant trees and indigenous plants. He was our inspiration for beautifying the world around us, and caring for plant life. He loved the mountains, his garden and us! We miss him terribly and as a tribute to him today I would ask that you do something GREEN:
take a walk, introduce recycling to your family (there is a recycling plant for metals such as aluminum in Provo and most schools have paper bins for recycling), plant a tree, shrub, flowers, etc.

Bon Losee Academy

Matt and Kade were hiking/repelling Robbers Roost Wednesday - Saturday (I will blog this later today or tomorrow). I took Friday off so that I could spend the day with Elise, Sadie and my mom. It was so fun. Friday morning I helped my dad do yard work for two of his elderly neighbors and then off for the day with the girls.
First stop, hair!
Elise was the first to go to the back for a wash. She loved the shampoo, it smelled like CHOCOLATE!
When we took Sadie back to get her hair washed, she went limp. She LOVED it! She told me, 'JJ, this feels so good I could go to sleep'.
They put Elise in a corner booth, and I joked that, 'no one puts baby in the corner'. Of course none of the young girls knew what I was talking about. I guess I am dating myself to the days of Dirty Dancing.
Sadie loved the whole experience, she was content to sit in the chair for an hour getting her hair styled. She was a hit with all of the stylist and customers. Everyone loved her LONG hair, sweet blue eyes and huge smile.
The girls were a little self conscious having their picture taken just right outside the salon.
Elise was darling playing around with Sadie.
I told Sadie to stand like she was playing. HA HA HA I am no Sara Staker/Sarah Ward/Sandy Landon (no competition ladies).
Don't you love them! I can't get enough time with them. They make me laugh all the time.
When we were leaving Sadie said, 'JJ, I feel bad for you that you don't have any more kids. When Matt and Kade leave you are alone and we aren't. Do you want more babies?' I melt when she and Elise are with me. Jerid and Jen, thanks for letting Matt and I love your kids.

Bean Museum

Tuesday of last week during Spring Break I took; Elise, Nick, Kade and Sadie to the Bean Museum on BYU campus. The weather was horribly cold so this was a perfect activity and to make it even better...it was FREE! If you ever go, walk up to the front desk and right next to the two-headed snake found in Utah there are scavenger hunt papers for kids of all ages.

The kids loved that the museum had one of Santa's reindeer. (I have no idea what happened to the rest of the pictures I took of the kids, these are the only two that made it home)

When we finished looking at all of the: animals, insects, fowl, etc. I took the kids to the LITTLE gift shop to pick something out. Behind me I heard this tiny voice say JJ, I turned around and poor Sadie had a bloody nose. I ran her to the restroom and we took care of it. Once again, back to the gift shop and again, JJ, you guessed it another bloody nose. I made the kids hurry, ran them out to the car in the wind/rain storm and off to the closest home, Grandmas. Sadie had to lay on the couch for about 20 minutes. Poor thing.

Hogle Zoo

I have not been great on keeping up to date. During Spring Break, a week ago Monday we took all of the kids to Hogle Zoo. We planned it just right, we arrived just as they opened, the weather was perfect, and kids were excited!Cael would have NOTHING to do with the metal elephant that sprays water and makes crAzY noises.
The kids were so patient waiting in line for our turn on the train.
Kade, Nick, and Nick had to sit by each other. If they were any bigger they would have to sit in two's.
Halle and Maryn
The kids all loved the Water GlobeAAAAGH! None of the other kids would have anything to do with this lion. When Jerid and I were little our dad took pictures of us with this lion.
The only tiger they were allowed to touch.

Kicking off Spring Break with the Blue and White Scrimage

Saturday was a perfect day for a boy of any age, young and old. Kade and I stopped at Big 5 Sports and bought a leather football, next we ran to Wal-Mart and bought a black Sharp-E. Then it was back on the road and off to BYU were we met some of our friends for a birthday party at the Blue & White Scrimage.

At noon they had a KIDS CAMP where all of the kids were allowed on the field to participate in relays with the Football players. Kade was so excited.
Kade and Carson excited to rush the field
Val and I sent the kids on the field with Shawn and Mark while we ran to picked up lunch for everyone. When we returned we found everyone but my little guy. After searching thousands of kids, and me in a panic, I headed for the first STAFF/Neon Shirt I could find. Right as I was about to explain that I had lost my son who was wearing BLUE (just like the other million kids!), Val yelled that she found him. Kade couldn't find anyone once they all rushed the field, he looked around trying to find anyone he knew and resolved to find our seats and wait until someone returned. Good thinking Kade and way to go Val!

So, back to the field we went. It was so fun. Kade was able to do some relays with the players. He ran a play that I know nothing about. If I were an announcer I would have called the play like this; 'Kade Kallas #07 has the ball, he is running up the side line, the 40, 30, 20, he spins past the defense at the 10, will he make it, touch down!' Kade running a play against Dan Van Sweden.

After the Kids Camp we sat on the 50 yard line 2nd and 3rd rows for lunch and the scrimage. We teased the kids asking who they wanted to win.

After the scrimage everyone was once again invited on the field for autographs and photos. I was so impressed by the generosity, kindness and professionalism of these young men. They were all so gracious. Everyone one of them asked Kade what his name is, if he had a good time, and thanked him for coming out and supporting them. Three players gave him the stickers off of their helmets. It was wonderful and made Kade's day. He was fortunate to receive a GOLD sticker, Shawn explained to Kade that the BLUE Stickers are for great things done on the team and GOLD are for great things done in the community, grades and plays.
