Kade's Favorites

(Kade has been asking for his own blog... I am not sure about it as he is only 8. I think it would end up being my project and I have PLENTY of my own right now. I told him to just ask and he can add to our family blog when he wanted to. Here is what he came up with tonight. He typed most of it and then had me finish up by taking dictation.)

My favorite song on Guitar Hero is Barracuda by Heart. My 2nd favorite song is Cool Thing, I don't know the band name. I am excellent at Guitar Hero on wii. I can play it behind my head.

I take real guitar lessons. My teacher tells me I am the best sight reader he has seen. That means I can take a piece of music and play it the first time through. I have an ipod that I take everywhere. One of my favorite songs on it is When We Were Young. I still need to learn how to put new songs on it.

My dad watches Sponge Bob with me, it is one of our favorite shows. We like these songs on Sponge Bob, Now That We're Men & Goofy Goobers & F. U. N. I had my mom add it to her play list. Mr. Crabs is my favorite and dads is Squidward. My mom thinks it is annoying but, we don't care.

I have an XBOX that I like to play Star Wars Battlefront II.

I love hunting with my dad. I just bought a B.B. Gun with my very own money. My dad takes me shooting when he has days off. I love to go fishing. My dad takes me all the time. We just went today and I caught 4 rainbow trout. We are going to eat them. I asked my mom if she wanted any and she didn't answer me, how rude. I love going to Robbers Roost with my dad and doing the 16 mile hike with rapels, my favorite part is Fat Mans Misery. It is a really tight squeeze.

I have a motorbike that is a KTM. I have to wear my gear: helmet, chest pad.

My favorite sport is baseball. I am in coach pitch and can't wait for next year when it will be real pitching. I always hit down the 3rd base line. My dad says he has no idea how I can hit like that all the time. I don't know, I just do. I love that after the games we get sno-cones for free.

I love to eat tacos at Del Taco. Today for breakfast me and my dad went to Del Taco. My dad got 2 tacos they were hard shelled. I got 3 tacos and they were hard shelled. My favorite food is tacos. My favorite drink is apple beer. My dad likes it too. My mom thinks it is too bubblish and fizzy, she doesn't like it. I like bananas. I like Jamba Juice, rAzAmAtAzz.

My favorite colors are blue, orange and red. My motobike is orange.

Navy Seals, Sealing & San Diego

We just returned from another fabulous vacation! One that was one to never be forgotten. We were able to witness an incredible piece of USA history that we will probably never see again in our family... the graduation of a NAVY SEAL! It was a true honor to be invited to witness such an occassion. The night before the graduation there was a Graduation Party. I was so shocked (shocked doesn't even put it into the correct words) at how young they all are. They have been put into their units already and some are in units that have already been deployed for missions. I cried when I would see them and think about what might be ahead of them. It was nice to see a slide show of the 'boys'. They had dinner, dancing and a live show (Jamie's band, she is amazing).

Add Image This was neat fountain on base just outside of the party that was tiled with glass tiles. Uncle Kevin, Kade & Grandpa Smith The Graduation Party was in Coronado. What an amazing city... I came home and told Matt if we ever had to live in Cali I would live here! The party was right on the beach.

The next morning was the graduation, before the ceremony all family and friends were invited to watch a 7 minute movie on the groups training. The man that was over the training told us that the closest thing for a civilian to compare what these men went through is the movie G.I. Jane with Demi Moore. It was intense, they are all so very young, 250 went into the program and 28 came out. I was trully impressed with the way everything was text book. They don't mess around. On our way to the graduation we were priviledged to see one of the turf training camps. I would die, die, die. I am not kidding. They have full uniforms on, running up sand hills, crawling, jumping fences, just like in the movies. It looks so brutal. Once we showed I.D. and parked we waited for the shuttle buses to take us to the actual graduation site. While waiting for the buses some large delivery trucks pulled in, the guards make them 'pop' the trunk and hood, open all side compartments, nothing goes untouched. They are very straight forward. Kade kept asking a lot of 'why' questions and the answers were always the same... FOR OUR SAFETY. I have always been extremely patriotic and now even more so, if that is at all possible. Kade kept telling me, 'Mom you have to promise you won't cry'. I did pretty well. The happy couple... Flynn & Jamie

After the graduation we decided to head off to the famous Sea World, I hadn't been in 16 years and Kade had never been.

Kade fast asleep on our way to Sea World
The weather was all time highs since 1979, lucky us. We made sure we were in the 'soak zones'. 1st stop, the Dolphins...
Next, Shamu & the Believe show... While we were on our way to the Shamu show Kade & I were seperated from the group. It was so hot so we sqeezed into a 'soake zone' seat and waited for the show to begin. Just then, Kat one of the new trainers came up to us and asked if Kade would like to be in the BELIEVE show. He was so excited! I called my dad's cell and told him where to meet me for the reserved seating seats. Kade & Kat

Fathers Day Weekend

Friday we all headed off to Park City, first stop was the new indoor water park in Kamas, UT. It is a fairly new hot-spot. They have a slide, lazy river, kids water area, diving boards & lap pool. You can spend all day there and never worry about your kids getting a sun burn. It was a great place to spend half the day.

After swimming we headed off to Park City. I love Park City, the views, the atmosphere, the people, & everything that is available to do: golfing, zip line, skiing, hiking, horseback riding, swimming, eating, shopping, my list can go on forever.

We stayed in the only place to stay when you go to Park City... Hotel Park City (http://www.hotelparkcity.com/). It is well worth the money (however, we were lucky enough to have mom & dad pay for the stay THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU). Jennifer Aniston & Brad Pitt stayed here in the Presidential Suite!!!

They have valet parking, all of the employees are in black & white clothing. The women wear black dresses with white aprons. Each night the beds are turned down with mints and fresh robes on your bed. They have a golf course that runs through the 'village', a pool, spa, ponds, it is breath taking.

Our suite was about 850 square feet. It was a fully furnished home. There were 2 flat screen t.v.s, 2 fire places, all of the bedding was down filled, we had a deck with a hot tub. It was pure luxury and we loved every minute of our stay. We were sad to leave.
This is a picture of the master bedroom that Matt & I stayed in. The bed was soooo comfy.
This is a picture of the fireplace during the holidays!!!
Saturday morning we woke up and went to hit the Alpine Slide/Coaster/Merry-Go-Round Karlee, Cortney, Cael, Halle
Dad, Matt, Nick, Me, Kade, Elise, Halle, Sadie, Jen, Jerid, Karlee, Cortney Everyone except Mom, Jill & Cael were able to ride the new Alpine Coaster. It was a blast. Sadie rode with me and we went as fast as the coaster would go. She laughed her head of the whole ride. Halle & Cael on the airplanes, Sadie is our thrill seeker and she was so bored with this ride, it was hilarious. The little ones rode these rides to make up for that fact that they were too little to ride the zip line at the Olympic Park. Sadie wanted to ride the zip line so bad. Kade & Nicholas loved checking out the bobsleds, luges, & old lift chairs at the Olympic Park. While we were there waiting to purchase our tickets one of the employees of the Park was having a fit that we were near the windows. His exact words, 'I need everyone to back away from the windows, there is a ski jump show going on outside that will end in 10 minutes. People have paid good money to see it.' Whatever dude! Why would we pay to see it if it ended in 10 minutes. What a dork. I later found out that Jerid told the guy to relax (I would expect nothing less from Jerid, way to go!!!)

I love my family! It doesn't matter what we do or where we go, we have a great time. We laugh until our stomachs hurt and we are crying. Cortney, Karlee, Jill & Cael enjoying dinner at the Park City Pizza & Noodle.
Me & my Mom! I love you mom! You are the best!
Jen, Jerid, Nicholas (licking his lips), Halle (sucking down a soda), & Sadie (downing her fries)
Elise (downing a sprite), Kade (counting the bottles of beer on the wall), Mom & Dad (showing his food trying to sick us out)
After dinner we went to the Chocolate Factory which is just up the street from Park City Pizza & Noodle. Kade walked in and announced to some strangers that, 'he felt like a kid in a candy store'. It was so funny! While wandering through the candy store we spotted (what we as a family have voted as the 'sickest treat ever invented'). The frozen, chocolate banana. Come on people it looks wrong. Jerid, mom & I thought is was hilarious. We almost had my mom convinced to open her mouth and pretend to eat it. We were laughing so hard we were are crying out eyes out. The kids didn't get it and wanted their pictures taken with it. We didn't!
Isn't she funny, we are the luckiest kids hands down!
Waiting patiently for the trolley: Sadie, Jerid, Jen, Nick, Halle, Elise, Matt, Cael, Kade

Once on the trolley I was showing my family my mad pole dancing skills. I know you are all jealous!

Val, this is for you! It was across the street from our cottage. Love ya!
